Male Struck By SEPTA Bus In North Philadelphia

By Kim Glovas

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One man was injured when he slipped under a SEPTA bus this afternoon, near the Olney Transportation Center at Broad and Olney.

It happened just after 3:30 as the bus was pulling out of the Transportation center and heading north.

Philadelphia police say the young man in his early-20s slipped and fell under the right hand front tire of the bus, and was run over. Police say he suffered a factured pelvis and broken right leg.

He was transported to Einstein Hospital by Septa police and is in critical condition.

SEPTA says the young man may have been running to catch the bus when the accident happened.
