Law Enforcement Officials Arrest 27 in S. Jersey Sweep

Twenty-seven people with outstanding arrest warrants in Gloucester County were rounded up this week during a three day sweep throughout South Jersey as part of "Operation Rapier".KYW's David Madden reports state police and US Marshalls teamed up with local officers in the sweep covering Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland and Salem Counties.

Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean Dalton says those picked up were wanted on everything from robbery and sexual assault to parole violations. But one suspect stands out:

"We were able to arrest Dennell Weaver, who was part of the trio who was involved in home invasion robberies in Franklin and Monroe Townships and currently, he's being held in the Gloucester County jail in default of 150 thousand dollars bail."

Eleven of the suspects nabbed are said to have violent prior criminal records and/or affiliations with street gangs.
