Laura C. Milner Foundation Hosts School Supply Giveaway For Kids In Need

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- An organization makes a push to help kids in Philadelphia who may not have gotten the supplies they need for the fledgling school year.
As far back as he can remember, Tyrone Lee Smith's grandmother Laura was constantly helping those in need.
"We're doing everything that she did. She would just help anybody. I've seen her pull homeless people off the street, bring them into the home, and get them their own apartments. She did this for women, children, men; she didn't care who you are and what you looked like," said Smith.
So, when she died from cancer, he founded a philanthropic non-profit organization in her honor.
Sunday afternoon, the organization hosted a school supplies giveaway at the Philadelphia Mills Dave and Buster's to help those in need.
"We have some book bags here, we got books, pens, rulers, lunch bags, and stuff like that," Smith explained.
Aliahna says she's very happy for the organization, because she's to get some much needed new supplies to use at school.
"A book bag, a lunch box, and some books," said Aliahna
