Lansdale Coach Sentenced For Accusing Other Coaches of Misconduct

LANSDALE, Pa. (CBS) -- A former lacrosse coach at Lansdale Catholic High School will spend at least 30 days behind bars for falsely accusing two other coaches at the school of sexual misconduct with student athletes (see related stories).
The Bucks County judge called Timothy Udinski's behavior "outrageous" and says the allegations he made against the other coaches never really go away in our new era of technology.
Today, the judge sentenced Udinski, 44, of Doylestown, to 1-23 months behind bars for stalking.
Udinski himself at one time was the subject of false allegations. Prosecutor Jesse King says he should have known better.
"It takes someone that's been in that position to know how to really hurt somebody and take the gloves off and hit 'em where it hurts," King said after the sentencing. "And Mr. Udinski knew how to do that, and that's exactly what he did."
King says Udinski sent out seven e-mails to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the news media, triggering an investigation that resulted in 180 man-hours.
Udinski pleaded "no contest" to the charges, never admitting guilt but conceding that prosecutors had enough evidence to convict him.
