Philadelphia taqueria responds after driver crashes into restaurant: "Sorry we don't have a drive-thru"

A South Philadelphia taqueria is already back open after a driver crashed through the front of the restaurant early Saturday morning.

Before 3 a.m., the La Catrachita location on 1600 S. Columbus Boulevard suffered serious damage after an SUV smashed through the front window and door.

The owner, Carlos, tells us in an Instagram message that thankfully, nobody was hurt.

The crash didn't keep the restaurant from opening for business. Carlos' father-in-law built a temporary front window and door to the building, and the shop is already back to serving food.

On social media, they lightened things up with a bit of humor.

"Sorry we don't have a drive-thru yet," they posted on Instagram.

It's not clear if the driver, who has not been identified, will face any charges in connection to the crash.

We've reached out to police for more information and we're waiting to hear back.
