La Canfora: Eagles Are 'In Love' With Ezekiel Elliott

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Ezekiel Elliot is a 6'0", 225-pound running back from Ohio State University, who has rushed for over 1,800 yards in his last two college seasons.

He can run. He can block. He can catch. Other than this report about him using party drugs, what's not to love?

CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora reports the Eagles, who Elliott is reportedly visiting with on Wednesday, are "in love" with the projected top-10 pick.

"If they stay at eight, I've heard considerable amount of buzz that he could very well be in play there," La Canfora told the 94WIP Mike & Ike Show on Wednesday. "[Eagles running backs coach] Duce Staley is a big fan of his, they've done a lot of work on him. Obviously that's a position where Shady McCoy and DeMarco Murray are no longer in the building. And let's face it, this is not an offense that as it sits today, looks incredibly prolific.

"I wouldn't be shocked if it turns that they are still there at eight, that Ezekiel Elliott is in play."

Of course, staying a pick No. 8 is far from a certainty for the Eagles, who are reportedly very interested in trading into the top-five for a quarterback. And just last week, La Canfora reported the Eagles are "likely" trading down for more picks.

15 days from the NFL Draft and we're hearing everything and anything about the Eagles.

Maybe they don't even know what they're going to do?
