Kentucy Derby Winner 'California Chrome' Warms Up For Pennsylvania Race

BENSALEM, Pa. (CBS) -- "California Chrome," winner of this year's Kentucky Derby and Preakness, is getting acquainted with the track at Parx Racing in Bensalem as he gets ready for Saturday's Pennsylvania Derby.
After a long cross-country journey, California Chrome finally got a chance today to stretch his legs, under the watchful eye of co-owner Steve Coburn.
"It's exciting because this is his first race since the Belmont, and it's nice to see him back in his element. I know he's a very happy horse right now," Coburn (below) told KYW Newsradio.
It was just a leisurely workout, but the horse clearly had a glide in his stride during his one time around the track.
"This horse has no wasted motion," Coburn says proudly. "He's very fluid and he runs straight as a rifle shot. That's what's nice about him. He doesn't deviate from where he's told to go. And a little bounce in his step is an indication (that) he's ready. He's ready to race again."
