Kelly Clarkson Cancels Camden Show

By Tom Rickert

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Kelly Clarkson's been keeping up a hectic touring schedule during the summer of 2015, but it looks like the three-time Grammy award winner won't be able to belt out her hitlist at a previously-scheduled show in Camden at the end of the month.

The American Idol alum says her doctors are telling her to rest her voice, so she's decided to cancel a handful of stops on her Piece by Piece tour, including the Susquehanna Bank Center on Sunday, September 20.

Six shows in total are now off the tour: Two concerts that were supposed to happen this weekend in Virginia, September 15 in Tampa, Florida, two days later in West Palm Beach, Florida, and then a show in Raleigh, North Carolina on the 19, the night before she was scheduled to stop in Camden.

The singer tweeted that she's very sorry to the fans who'd planned on seeing her perform, and she can't wait to get healthy, saying she never cancels a show unless it's "absolutely necessary."

Clarkson was last in the area in July, when she kicked off her summer tour in Hershey, Pa.
