PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One of the largest marketers of "As Seen On TV" products was in Philadelphia on Wednesday to select the winner of a competition to take the at home inventor's product to the next level.

Customized rubber ducks, ant traps with gourmet bait and a jewelry cleaner that you use in a dishwasher were a few of the nine products the hopeful inventors were pitching by way of a video conference.

There was a $50,000 TV marketing prize at stake. The three judges were in an Old City hotel conference room with the inventions. The finalist were in various parts of North America.

"We are going to buy the commercial, buy the media and test it," said Bill McAlister, president of Bucks County-based Top Dog Direct. "The last time we did this actually in Philadelphia we found this great product called Be Active and we ended up selling 6 million of them"

The winner was a chiropractor from California with her invention of "Spring Thing," a hand-held massage tool.
