By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Rothman Ice Rink at Dilworth Park reopens for a second season at noon Friday.

There are new amenities this year.

The ice rink itself is more rectangular than last year's oblong shape.

Michelle Shannon with the Center City District says a giant tent just feet away from the rink is in place. It's called the Rothman Cabin.

"Which is going to be a great place for the skaters to come in get warm, grab a bite to eat, grab a cocktail at night," said Shannon.

Also new, sled skating, starting in January.

"Children and adults who are physically or mentally disabled it's a way for them to get on the ice and skate with other folks and get the experience of skating," said Shannon.

Also a Made in Philadelphia holiday market will be introduced begriming November 21st.

You can rent skates and take lessons too.
