Glassdoor Releases List Of 2016's Highest Paying Jobs In America

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Which careers bring in the biggest paychecks?

Glassdoor, a jobs and recruiting website, released its list of the 25 Highest Paying Jobs in America for 2016.

According to Glassdoor, physicians took the top spot at No. 1, making a median base salary of $180,000.

Lawyers were ranked second, earning a median base salary of $144,500.

Research and development managers placed at No. 3, with a median base salary of $142,120.

 "This report reinforces that high pay continues to be tied to in-demand skills, higher education and working in jobs that are protected from competition or automation. This is why we see several jobs within the technology and healthcare industries," said Dr. Andrew Chamberlain, Glassdoor Chief Economist in the blog post.

The website says the report is entirely based on people with these jobs who have shared their salaries on Glassdoor over the past year.
