Gov. Christie Picks Up Another Democratic Endorsement

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Gov. Chris Christie has picked up another Democratic endorsement for re-election — this time from the former executive director of the Black Ministers Council of New Jersey.

Bishop Reginald Jackson was joined Monday by 10 members of the state's black clergy community. Jackson is the former executive director of the Black Ministers Council, which represents more than 600 churches in the state.

Jackson has traditionally endorsed Democrats in prior elections, but he's also endorsed former New Jersey Republican governors Christie Todd Whitman and Thomas Kean.

An education advocate, Jackson says he supports the governor's education efforts, especially to low-income and minority children. He also says Christie has worked to ensure they have access to quality education.
