Gloucester County Authorities Seek Public's Help In Cracking 19-Year-Old Cold Case
LOGAN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) - Authorities in Gloucester County are asking for your help in cracking a 19-year old cold case. The victim was a member of our Armed Forces.
It was November 14th, 1992. U.S. Marine James Sutton, a gunnery sergeant, was home alone in Logan Township's Beckett development. His wife and then 7-year-old daughter walked in to find him shot to death. Three county detectives have worked the case since then. The latest, Joan Krucinski, is hoping anyone with information, no matter how trite, steps up.
"They may think that it's not important or it's unrelated and little do they know it may be just what we're looking for," said Krucinski.
An agent from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, or NCIS, has joined in the probe. People are being re-interviewed. Between their efforts, technological advances, and maybe a key tip or two, hopes are to track down the killer.
