Free Training Session On PTSD Offered This April
By Lynne Adkins
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A local service group for U.S. soldiers is planning a training session to help volunteers learn about PTSD.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a major problem for vets returning from duty in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to Sister Nancy DeCesare, the founder of the local chapter of The Soldiers Project.
She says the group "provides free counseling and support for military service members who have served or are expected to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan. We also provide service to their families."
The training session about PTSD is for volunteer psychologists, family therapists and social workers. It takes place at 10 a.m. on April 19th at Chestnut Hill College.
