Firefighters Respond To Hazmat Situation In South Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – At approximately 12:00 p.m. firefighters responded to a hazmat situation at a South Philadelphia refinery.
Officials say the Philadelphia Energy Solutions Refining Complex was experiencing an operational upset, which caused the fire. They believe a processing unit inside the refinery was overheating.
The incident happened on the 2600 block of Penrose Avenue.
The fire was out by 12:30 p.m.
No injuries have been reported.
