Police: Suspect Dressed As Mailman, 3 Others Rob Victim At Gunpoint In Front Of Infant Son

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — An Olney homeowner is speaking out after he says four suspects robbed him Wednesday afternoon at gunpoint in front of his nine-month-old son.

"I'm angry," said 44-year-old Khamphoy Detmongkhoune. "My life doesn't matter, but I'm worried about my son's life."

Surveillance video around 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday shows the first suspect in a postal worker uniform approaching the victim outside of his home on the 5400 block of North 2nd Street.

"By the time I put my child in the car, I wasn't paying attention. I turned back and he was behind me," he said. "He said he got a package for me."

Instead, Philadelphia Police Capt. Malachi Jones says that suspect pulled out a gun and forced the victim inside his home, zip-tying and pistol-whipping him.

"We don't believe it was a postal worker that committed this robbery but somehow this person got a hold of a uniform," Jones said.

Three other suspects waiting nearby are also caught on camera going into the home.

"We do believe, based on the timing, that it's very possible it was in fact a targeted robbery," he said.

The four suspects got away with $5,000 cash, an iPhone 7, as well as both car and house keys.
