DNC Host Committee Opens Pop-Up Shop In Center City

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A pop-up shop stocked with official DNC Host Committee merchandise opened Wednesday in the concourse of the Comcast Center in Center City.

Located at the entrance to the Comcast Center food court, the store is stocked with buttons, T-shirts, drinkware, along with other wearables and tchotchkes. Host Committee Deputy Executive Director Angela Val says it's all made in America, much of it union-made, with images created by local talent.

"We wanted people to be able to get merchandise that was representative of Philadelphia," she said. "That's a very hard thing to do without incorporating some of our artists and designers into that mix.

Philly-based Impact Dimensions partnered with the Host Committee to provide the merchandise. President Luis Liceaga says there are two more pop-up stores in the pipeline.

"We'll be opening one at PoliticalFest," he said, "and one at the 30th Street Station."

The store is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
