Pedestrian Hospitalized, Crash Shuts Down Lanes On Philadelphia Pike In Wilmington
WILMINGTON, De. (CBS) -- Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that involved a pedestrian and a vehicle on Philadelphia Pike in Wilmington.
The crash took place around 6:48 p.m. Police say the accident occurred northbound near the Washington Street Extension. The northbound lanes of Philadelphia Pike and one of the southbound lanes were closed to traffic as a result of the crash. Commuters were asked to find alternate routes.
Authorities say the pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center.
The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit was on the scene.
