Dan Aykroyd Announces He'll Donate To Fund For Slain Officer At Philadelphia Flower Show

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Dan Aykroyd visited the Philadelphia Flower Show on Friday to promote his Crystal Head Vodka, but he reportedly also made an announcement.

According to the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Aykroyd vowed he and Crystal Head would make a donation to a fund for Philadelphia Police Officer Robert Wilson III, who was gunned down on Thursday.

"Encourage listeners to step up and I'm going to match the contributions that are coming, and I'll be talking to our corporate office in Toronto to make sure that happens next week," said Aykroyd.

Police say Officer Wilson, who was buying a gift for his son as a reward for good grades, was shot and killed during a shootout with two suspects who were trying to rob a video game store in North Philadelphia Thursday.  Officer Wilson was in full uniform at the time, according to police.

Wilson left behind two children, ages eight and one.

Authorities say anyone who would like to make a donation to the trust fund for the family of Officer Wilson can do so in person at the following PFFCU branches:

901 Arch Street
7604 City Avenue
8500 Henry Avenue
Leo Mall, Byberry and Bustleton Avenue
7500 Castor Avenue
3300 Grant Avenue

Or by mailing a check payable to:

The Robert Wilson III Family Memorial Trust Fund
Police and Fire Federal Credit Union
901 Arch Street
Philadelphia PA, 19107
