VILLANOVA, Pa. (CBS) - After a hard fought loss to William & Mary this past weekend, 20-16, the Villanova Wildcats take to the road on Saturday to visit nationally the ranked University of New Hampshire.
The loss to the Tribe dropped the Wildcats to 1-4. Head coach Andy Talley says while their record doesn't show it, his team continues to make strides.
"That's the big thing, we are seeing progression, we are improving," Talley says. "And we are getting better on both sides of the ball. As long as we keep doing that and play as hard as we can, that's all we can ask right now in a rebuilding year when we've got guys hurt."
The task is tall against New Hampshire. They are 3-1, and Talley says they keep the scoreboard operator busy.
"Well, they are (averaging) 38 points a game on offense, very high scoring and quick hitting. And we are only scoring about 13 a game. We really need to improve on offense, and hopefully we will as the kids get older. But it's going to be one of those games, we have to go in and play great defense and hopefully control the football a little bit to take some time off the clock."
