Clinton Gains In New F&M Pennsylvania Poll
HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) -- A week of bad news for Donald Trump means good news for Hillary Clinton in a brand new Franklin and Marshall College Poll of Pennsylvania voters.
In the last Franklin and Marshall College Poll about a month ago, Donald Trump had closed the gap a bit -- after a week of bad news for Hillary Clinton. In the latest survey, Poll Director Terry Madonna says the tables have turned. Clinton leads by nine points, 47-percent to 38-percent, among likely Pennsylvania voters, and 12 points among registered voters.
"And it has everything to do with the bad week Trump has had, not arguably his worst week since the campaign began. You have the debate performance which polls have shown that he underperformed," Madonna said. "I think he probably lost three, four points of the nine in the Franklin and Marshall College Poll that trails probably because of the debate performance."
Madonna says the debate was followed by Trump controversies involving a former Miss Universe and income taxes.
In the race for U.S. Senate, Democrat Katie McGinty holds a six point lead over Incumbent Republican Pat Toomey, 41-percent to 35-percent, among likely voters.
