Clean-Out Lady Found Guilty

NORRISTOWN (CBS) - A former cleaning woman sits behind bars in Montgomery County after being found guilty of stealing jewelry, gold coins and a valuable sports memorabilia collection from several of her Main Line clients.

The jury deliberated for more than six hours before finding Kimberly Williams guilty of five counts of theft and five counts of receiving stolen property. The jury didn't buy her defense that it was her estranged husband, a police officer in Delaware County, who framed her for the crimes.

The 45-year-old woman stole the baseball collection from Adam Kaplan, who was dying of cancer. His brother Andrew says the jury's verdict brings relief and vindication for the family:

"The jurors said what the truth is -- she's guilty on every single count and now let the system of justice prevail and let her sit in a jail cell for many years to come."

She claimed Kaplan gave her the collection and told her to use the money to get away from her abusive husband. It wasn't until after he died two years ago the family found it was missing. Williams faces a maximum sentence of 35 to 70 years behind bars.
