Chip Kelly: 'It Goes Way Beyond Culture' With Greg Hardy

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Not that the Eagles needed any extra motivation for their Week 9 Sunday Night Football showdown in Dallas against the Cowboys, but on Friday afternoon, that's exactly what they received.

Deadspin.com released the graphic photos of Cowboys' defensive lineman Greg Hardy's former girlfriend Nicole Holder on Friday, about a year and a half after Hardy was charged and arrested for attacking her. The photos showed Holder with bruises up and down her body.

After the Eagles' 33-27 overtime win, offensive lineman Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson both admitted they had some extra emotion when blocking Hardy.

"I think everybody was cognizant of that [strong] feeling [towards Hardy]," Eagles head coach Chip Kelly told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Monday.

When asked if Hardy is the kind of player that wouldn't fit his culture, Kelly admitted it's much more than culture when it comes to what Hardy did.

"I don't think that has anything to do with culture to be honest with you," Kelly said. "It's bigger than that. It's got nothing to do with culture and putting a team together, it's way beyond that."

Eagles veteran linebacker DeMeco Ryans, who did not play in Sunday night's game due to a groin injury, also talked about Hardy on Monday morning.

"There's never a time or place for any man to ever put his hands on a woman," Ryans told the 94WIP Morning Show. "And it's just uncalled for and it's despicable. I see those photos and it's just heartbreaking to see that. There's no place for that, for any man, wherever---in the world. There's no place for that."
