Children Unharmed After Dad's Car Is Stolen With Kids Still In Backseat

By Dan Wing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- At least one man is counting his blessings after his car is stolen in the Ogontz section of Philadelphia with his two young sons sleeping in the back seat.

Police say the man stopped at a Chinese Restaurant at Broad Street and Chew Avenue around 11:30 Tuesday night. He left his car running as he ran inside, because his three-year old twin sons were sleeping in the back seat.

While inside, someone jumped in the driver's seat and took off.

Police say it took less than 10-minutes for them to find the car, which was left running about five blocks away at 15th and Widener Streets. The twin boys were still inside sleeping, unharmed and likely unaware of what had happened.

Investigators are still searching for the person who stole the car.
