Water Service Restored After Main Break Hampered Businesses In Heart Of Center City
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The water main break hampering businesses in the heart of Center City is now fixed and water service has been restored. Officials say a 12-inch main ruptured near 18th and Chestnuts Streets in Center City on Friday morning.
Water service was restored around 6:30 p.m. and road repairs were completed a short time later. The street reopened between 8:30 and 9 p.m.
The water main break affected dozens of apartments and condos as well as businesses on a busy Friday night. The Continental Restaurant was also without water.
