Bucks County Sheriff's Office Warns Residents Of Phone Scam
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Bucks County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of a phone scam.
The Sheriff's Office says they have has received numerous complaints from residents that they have received phone calls from a subject allegedly claiming to be a Bucks County Sheriff's Deputy.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the phone caller states that he or she has a warrant for them and if they don't pay a certain amount of money they will be arrested. At that point, the Sheriff's Office says the caller asks for the person to meet them in a shopping center parking lot.
Bucks County Sheriff Edward Donnelly asks all residents to please be advised that this phone call is a scam.
"The Bucks County Sheriff's Office would never call and ask for money," said Sheriff Donnelly in a press release. "Our office also would never ask to meet a subject in a shopping center lot."
