Biden To Visit Philadelphia To Discuss Gun Control
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The White House says Vice President Joe Biden will travel to Philadelphia next week to host a roundtable discussion on gun control.
Biden is scheduled to appear Monday. Joining him will be law enforcement officials, Deputy Attorney General James Cole and Democratic members of Pennsylvania's congressional delegation.
No other details were released Thursday.
The administration of President Barack Obama is pushing for new gun-control measures in the wake of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. Proposals include a new ban on assault weapons, a ban on high-capacity magazines carrying more than 10 rounds of ammunition, and background checks for all gun sales.
