PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts presents "Beyond the Paint: Philadelphia's Mural Arts," featuring the work from 30 years of community based art making in the city.
Listen to the podcast below...
The journey takes you "from the beginning when they started out as the anti-graffiti network, their evolution to the Mural Arts Program and then their evolution over the last 10 or 15 years to an organization that is really working to help bring about change," explains Harry Philbrick, Museum Director at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
"We'll explain the process of the development of the murals, how different communities get involved and come together to create a mural, and we'll also show some of the history of the early murals that are no longer with us," Philbrick adds.
The exhibition runs November 15 through April 6.
