Barnes Foundation Showing 'Picasso: The Great War, Experimentation And Change'

By RJ McKay

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Barnes Foundation is now showing 'Picasso: The Great War, Experimentation and Change' until May 9.

Martha Lucy, Deputy Director and Curator at the Barnes Foundation talks about the exhibition.

"You'll see a side of that you might not be familiar with, when you think of Picasso we think of distorted shapes and sort of weird faces. But in this show you do see some of that, but you also see this other side where he returns to doing this beautiful, classical drawing."

Martha also explains why the exhibit was brought to the Barnes Foundation.

I think because it's a period in Picasso's work that is not very well understood. And I think sort of what's fun about this exhibition is that it asks questions, and doesn't necessarily try to answer all of them. It kind of leaves it up to you, it really does make you think."
