Upper Darby Police Officer Fatally Shoots Man In Wooded Area After He Reportedly Became Violent With Officers
UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) -- An Upper Darby police officer is on administrative leave after a deadly shooting on Friday. Chopper 3 was over North Pennock Avenue and Parkview Road.
Police say a man from California was shot in a wooded area after he reportedly became violent with officers and non-lethal measures were not successful.
The man died at Lankenau Medical Center.
Police say officers were called to a residence in the township several times overnight where a woman had a restraining order against the man, but he continued to show up.
Authorities are still investigating the shooting.
