PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Authorities say dozens of people were taken to local hospitals after a trolley car collided with a stolen vehicle in Southwest Philadelphia.

The accident happened at 49th Street and Grays Avenue just before 9:30 Wednesday morning.

Police say two males driving in a stolen Hyundai Tucson attempted to make a right turn onto Grays Avenue when their vehicle collided with the trolley.

One male was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated, police say.

Both men are being taken to Presbyterian Hospital in extremely critical condition.

Dozens of victims were transported by SEPTA bus to Presbyterian Hospital for evaluation. Officials say several others were separately taken to Hahnemann, the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Presbyterian Hospital.
