Arrest Made In Murder Of Retired Villanova University Professor
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia Police have made an arrest in connection with the stabbing death of a retired Villanova University professor.
Police say Jose Diaz, 42, of Philadelphia, has been arrested and charged for the murder of Carol Ambruster.
The 69-year-old victim was found dead by her roommate inside her Wayne Avenue apartment on Dec. 9th (See Related Story).
Ambruster was an Assistant Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics until retiring in 2011.
She was pronounced dead at the scene suffering from multiple stab wounds to her chest and neck area.
Police say Diaz is charged with Murder and related offenses.
There is no word on a motive.
