Archdiocese Of Philadelphia Announces Closing Of Four Delaware Valley Churchs

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Archdiocese of Philadelphia has announced the closure of four church buildings in the Delaware Valley effective January 11th.

The churches buildings, which will no longer serve as places of worship, are: St. Augustine in Montgomery County; St. Therese of the Child Jesus, and St. Madeline Sophie in Philadelphia; and the original Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Chester County.

Two of the church buildings set for deconsecration had already been shuttered because of safety reasons.
