Preparations For A Pope: Archbishop Chaput Discusses Upcoming Papal Visit

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- For Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput, the big events are finally here, the Vatican-sponsored World Meeting of Families and the visit of Pope Francis.
Chaput is hopeful those who live and work in the region will be understanding.
"It's easy to get angry when your plans are frustrated by congestion of people. So I hope everyone will welcome this event even though it may be inconvenient for some of us," said Archbishop Chaput.
The archbishop says Pope Francis' visit may open some doors of dialogue.
"For all of us, it could be a life-changing opportunity to engage in a process of friendship. And, I hope that really happens."
Chaput says the pope's visit may plant some seeds for future priests and nuns.
"Getting that thought in people's mind is enough to increase the number of vocations. It certainly will happen, I'm sure."
And, the archbishop says, Philadelphians, through their good will, can send a message.
"This is the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection. And I hope it shows itself in a very clear and welcoming way during the papal visit."
