Andy Reid Unanimously Approved By Chiefs Fans

By Spike Eskin

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – If there was a poll taken of Andy Reid's approval ratings during the last days of his final season with the Eagles, you can almost certainly be assured that it would have been very low. Even Reid's biggest supporters couldn't have approved of the 4-12 records, and one of the ugliest seasons in team history.

Andy Reid is 3-0 as head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, and after the team won just two games all of last season, it's fair to say that Chiefs fans like the job Andy Reid is doing.

Arrowhead Pride, a Chiefs blog, has taken a monthly approval rating of Reid since he was hired in January. The poll opened up with an 89% approval rating in January, and the current poll for September is at 100% (as of 8:07am on Monday. The approval rating has never dropped below 86% (April), and was 89% in August.

Joel  Thorman, manager of Arrowhead Pride and is SB Nation's NFL league manager, told me last week that for a moment late in the Chiefs 17-16 win over the Cowboys, he saw that star running back Jamaal Charles had only nine carries, and wondered if this is what Eagles fans were frustrated by. The Chiefs pulled out the win, so everyone was happy regardless of the carries Charles got.

Reid is still popular in one Philadelphia location, Big Charlie's, a bar for Chiefs fans at 11th and McKean streets in South Philadelphia. Big Charlie's sold Andy Reid t-shirts after he was hired by the Chiefs, and as long as Reid keeps winning, those shirts are likely to keep selling.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and to Chiefs fans, Andy Reid is pretty beautiful.
