An Aldan, Pennsylvania, police officer shot and killed a man on Thursday morning, law enforcement sources told CBS News Philadelphia.

According to Delaware County dispatchers, police were called to a residential area on South Clifton Avenue in Aldan, near Providence Park around 3:30 a.m. when shots were fired.

There's no word on what led up to the shooting or if anyone will face charges. The man's identity has not been publicly released.

South Clifton Avenue is blocked with caution tape during the investigation.
