Aggressive coyote spotted in Cheltenham Township, Pennsylvania, police say

Police in Montgomery County are warning residents about reports of an aggressive coyote spotted in the area.

In a social media post Friday afternoon, Cheltenham police said they received multiple reports of an aggressive coyote in the Wyncote section of Cheltenham Township.

The coyote was spotted near Curtis Park, Hopeland Road, Washington Lane and Rock Creek Drive, police said.

Authorities said officers searched the area using drones but were unable to locate the animal. The Pennsylvania Game Commission is sending officers to survey the area, police said.

Police urged residents not to approach the coyote if they see it and to call 911 immediately. Pet owners are also urged to keep their pets indoors.

It is unclear if the coyote has come into contact with anyone in the area.
