2nd Suspect In Overbrook Murder Turns Himself In To Police

By Jan Carabeo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A second suspect sought in the shooting death of a man in the Overbrook neighborhood of Philadelphia last week has surrendered, according to the suspect's family.

The mother and aunt of 15-year-old Tyfine Hamilton tell CBS 3 Eyewitness News he turned himself into Philadelphia Police around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Hamilton's aunt told CBS 3 their thoughts are with the victim's family.

"You have my deepest condolences. This is never meant to happen. I can't imagine how you guys feel. We apologize for everything."

Hamilton's family adds Tyfine was off his medication at the time of the shooting and needs help.

Police say Hamilton was the triggerman in the fatal shooting. They say he, along with 15-year-old Brandon Smith and a 14-year-old, were all playing basketball before they decided to rob someone. Their victim, police say, was 51-year-old James Stuhlman, who was out walking his dog.

After Stuhlman was shot once in the chest, police say the teens made off with nothing.

Smith was arrested and charged as an adult for his involvement in the murder on Thursday. The 14-year-old also faces lesser charges.

Both Hamilton and Smith were freshman at Overbrook High School.
