2 Killed In Single Vehicle Crash In Milford

MILFORD, DE (CBS) – Delaware State Police say two people were killed Saturday morning in a single vehicle crash.

The accident happened around 5:20 a.m. near Memory Road in Milford, Delaware.

Authorities say a 2005 Dodge Neon spun out of control subsequently ejecting the driver from the vehicle. The driver's side door reportedly struck a tree which caused the car to rotate violently in a counter-clockwise direction.

Both the 21-year-old driver and the 19-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victims have not yet been released.

According to police, the victims were reportedly not wearing seat belts at the time.

The cause of the crash is unknown. However, officials believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor.
