Zoho Writer Adds DocX Support, Thesaurus, and More

Having already increased its lead over Google Docs with features like page view and headers and footers, Web-based word processor Zoho Writer raised the stakes again yesterday with even more improvements. Among them:

• DocX export Now you can export documents in Microsoft's latest file format, meaning they should open in Word 2007 without any loss of formatting. DocX import capabilities are just around the corner.
• Thesaurus Right-click any word in your document and you'll see a new Thesaurus option in the context menu. Click it to find synonyms and related words. Unfortunately, you can't yet replace the selected word with one found in the Thesaurus.
• Group sharing You can now share documents with groups instead of just individuals. The groups you create are available across all Zoho apps. (Admittedly, Google Docs already had this option.)
