"It's your basic country-Southern rock-bluegrass-reggae-jam record," Brown told the Associated Press.

For the new album, Zan Brown Band teamed with percussionst Daniel de los Reyes, who's worked with Earth, Wind & Fire and Sting.

"It's really about making people dance," Brown said about the new material. "You just don't let them go. There's a lot of songs on the record that when we play them live, we'll extend out long. But it's really about just grabbing people in that pulse and then not letting them go that entire song."

The band is nominated for Billboard Music Awards' top country artist honor, as well as two CMT Awards: collaborative video of the year for "Knee Deep," featuring Jimmy Buffet, and best group video for "Keep Me in Mind."
