Young Blunt Doesn't Disappoint

Missouri's Republican Gov. Matt Blunt announced he isn’t running for reelection, a decision that was met with this statement from his father, House Republican Whip Roy Blunt:

“I respect his decision to spend this year being the best governor he can be in service of our state and its people, rather than letting the focus shift to pure politics.”

We imagine that if his son had decided to run for reelection, the statement would read:

“I’m disappointed in his decision to let the focus shift to pure politics, rather than to spend this year being the best governor he can be in service of our state and its people.”
