Young Actor's 'Millions' Luck

Alex Etel, the unknown star of a soon-to-be-released movie that is generating a lot of buzz, can't get used to seeing himself on screen.

In an interview Monday morning with The Early Show co-anchor Harry Smith , the 10-year-old grinned and giggled every time a clip of "Millions" was screened.

And he told Smith he had such a great time making the movie that he now wants to be an actor. He especially liked the scenes in which his character would hang out in a box by the railroad tracks.

"It was cool when the trains went past me and you were just listening to the vibrating. It would shake the boxes when you were sitting there."

But now that the movie is about to be released, he finds all attention strange. "It's basically a dream because I would never expect all this," he said.

He got the part when a casting agent arrived at his school.

"They came out to all of the schools in the northwest of England," he told Smith. "And I asked my mum if I could audition for it. She had to sign a ticket, a release. And they came out with a camera and stuff and asked us, 'What did you get for Christmas?' "

In interviews, director Danny Boyle said Etel "captures Damian's innocence, naivete and beatitude."

When he finishes promoting the movie, Etel said he will go back to school and "try not to break a leg" while playing his favorite sport, soccer. (He likes to play cricket as well.)

And what if he found a million dollars?

"I'd buy Manchester United," he responded, referring to his favorite team.
