Xobni for BlackBerry: Address-Book Magic Goes Mobile

Xobni, of course, is the Outlook plug-in we all know and love. The new Xobni Mobile brings much of the same contact-management goodness to your BlackBerry.

The app creates what Xobni calls a "magic address book" from your phone logs and e-mail. For each person with whom you communicate, you're shown a snazzy profile page, complete with phone number, photo, and history (e-mails, phone calls, etc.).

Meanwhile, Xobni ranks contacts based on frequency of communication, so you can more quickly and easily find the person you need. If that doesn't work, there's always search, which is faster and more versatile than the BlackBerry's own search function.

You can see Xobni Mobile in action, kind of, in this promo video -- which may be one of the worst I've ever seen. It's filled with annoying lightning-zaps and doesn't show the actual product until at least halfway through -- at which point it zips through so quickly, you barely get to see anything. But, um, enjoy!

Xobni Mobile works with most BlackBerry Bold and Curve models, plus the Storm and Tour. Support for OS 6.0 and the BlackBerry Torch are coming soon.

The app costs $9.99 by itself (well worth it, IMHO), but drops to $6.99 if you pair it with Xobni One, which provides synchronization with Outlook and runs $3.99 per month. Alternately, you can get Xobni for BlackBerry and Xobni One for $39.90 for one year.
