Write without Distraction with DarkCopy

darkcopy.jpg
Do you long for the days of a sheet of paper, a typewriter, and distraction-free writing? Enter DarkCopy, a Web-based text editor that provides you with nothing more than a blank screen and a cursor.

Just head to the DarkCopy site and click the "Start full screen" button: DarkCopy removes everything except your Windows taskbar. (You can kill that too by pressing F11 on your keyboard.) Compose your text, then mouse over the toolbar link to save your work as a text file (which you can then import into Word or whatever).

It may seem a little weird at first, especially if you're used to doing 10 things at once, but it really is great for blocking out typical computer-driven distractions (like e-mail and IM). If you want a similar tool that's even more robust (DarkCopy really is nothing more than a text editor), check out Writer. [via Download Squad]
