WKRP On The Air Again

Fans of the old CBS series WKRP in Cincinnati will be happy to know that reruns are coming to Nick at Nite, which is launching the series' return with a weeklong marathon, reports CBS This Morning Co-Anchor Mark McEwen.

WKRP in Cincinnati first hit the airwaves back in 1978. Dr. Johnny Fever (played by Howard Hesseman) headed up WKRP's offbeat staff of radio personalities.

"I had a good feeling when I read the script for the pilot for the first time," Hesseman recalls. "I had the feeling that this disc jockey was a character that I could live with, so to speak, for four or five years."

Loni Anderson starred as head-turning WKRP secretary Jennifer Marlowe.

"At the time we did the show, there weren't any really glamorous women on television, in a comedy that had that kind of wit," says Anderson. "And women really appreciated it. Yes, you can be in a tight sweater and still have something really intelligent to say. And so we got a lot of attention because of that. And I got a lot of attention because of that."

Anderson and Hesseman both say they wouldn't mind a WKRP reunion in the near future.
