Wife pulled dead from Ore. house fire knew husband was sex offender, says brother
(CBS/AP) MEDFORD, Ore. - An Oregon mother whose husband is suspected of killing her and their four children and setting fire to their house knew the man was a convicted child molester, her brother said Thursday.
Jesse Adams of Phoenix, Ariz., spoke to reporters Thursday in Medford, where Tabasha Paige-Criado and her four children were found stabbed in their burning house Monday.
With a Bible before him, Adams said he believes God took his sister and her four children from "a wicked garden" that was her life with husband Jordan Criado, and he brought them to a better place.
Jesse Adams also told reporters that Jordan Criado's past "didn't faze" his sister and, as far as he was concerned, "he served his debt to society for that" and had "no bearing on what happened now."
Investigators believe 51-year-old Jordan Criado stabbed his wife and their four young children and set fire to their house on Monday, killing all five victims.
Firefighters used CPR to try and revive the family members, and managed to get a pulse from at least two of the children as they lay on the lawn in front of their home.
Rescuers quickly realized it wasn't just smoke inhalation they were dealing with and rushed the 30-year-old mother and the children - ages 2, 5, 6 and 7 - to the hospital. But all five died.
