Monday night lights will shine over the No. 1 Auburn Tigers and No. 2 Oregon Ducks as they battle it out for the BCS National Championship in Glendale, Arizona. Though both teams are newbies to the championship stage, their records speak for themselves.

On one end of the field at the University of Phoenix Stadium there's the unstoppable offense of the Tigers--Southeastern Conference Champs led by Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton.

"He's got speed, strength, technique," Oregon offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich told the Associated Press of Newton. "Basically, all the things you don't want to see as an offensive guy lining up against him, he's got."

At the other end of the turf stands the mighty Ducks. Though inferior on the food chain, there is nothing feeble about this Pac-10 championship team that harbors running back LaMichael James, who has scored 37 or more points 11 times throughout their undefeated season, according to the AP.

It's evident that offense is the bread and butter of both teams, which has critics and fans alike predicting a high scoring game, but defense will remain key.

"Both defenses have something to prove and want to show up and are tired of answering questions about how it's going to be 55-53," said ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit.
