(CBS) CHICAGO - A warning has been issued by police after the rape and abduction of a girl in the North Lawndale neighborhood, CBS Chicago reports.

The 14-year-old was walking to school Monday morning when a group of six men grabbed her off the street, forced her into a car, then drove her to a house, where they raped her, police say.

"Who does that? Why are they doing this to kids? ... That don't make sense," Staricha Langtson told reporters as she walked home in the neighborhood with her kids on Wednesday night.

On Thursday morning, members of the Guardian Angels citizen patrol were in the neighborhood passing out flyers and talking to residents, and planning to escort students to school.
