Twitter has become a critical source for news on the evolving situation in Egypt

Tens of thousands of tweets are pouring into cyberspace about the Egypt situation (#egypt and #jan25 hashtags, for example), including news, commentary and a lot of humor. In fact, on Twitter anyone can jump on the virtual stage and share their humor, which runs in parallel to serious and sobering information about the emerging events in Egypt.

As President Hosni Mubarak was deciding his fate on Thursday, and the world was waiting for him to render his decision on state TV, the Twitter community started a hashtag (a way to aggregate tweets on a theme)   #ReasonsMubarakIsLate, giving people a place to share their humor as the events surrounding his status unfolded.
